Progress, Pivots and What’s Next
We’ve been busy making stuff better
The first release week was a full spectrum of emotions, excitement, pressure, relief and a fair bit of chaos. We genuinely appreciate the support, patience and encouragement shown by everyone. It has not gone unnoticed.
A large chunk of work has taken place behind the scenes, particularly around login and authentication. Stability and reliability here is critical, so we tightened things up and improved the overall flow. Alongside this, we added several missing features around the social side of the app to make it feel more complete and less like an afterthought.
On the Android front, we are pushing hard. We are currently moving through Google’s approval process, which is very different to iOS. It involves a longer period in closed beta before anything can go live publicly. Once it is approved and ready, we will notify everyone straight away.
Campa+ Improvements
We have also taken a proper look at how people are subscribing and purchasing. The verdict is clear. More people want to subscribe rather than cherry pick individual items. Because of that, we are making our first real pivot in monetisation. Shortly, all essential map packs will be included within the Campa+ subscription and we will be making this far more visible. Map packs will still be available to buy individually, and bundle options are coming for those who do not want to subscribe.
So what is next once the obvious issues are ironed out?
We can see people are enjoying the social side and that is where our focus is shifting. We want this to feel like a genuine community space, not another fire and forget Instagram clone. The goal is more interaction, more value and a better overall experience. The exact execution is still being shaped, but the direction is clear.
Over the coming months we will move through the app page by page, improving what is there and adding what is missing. We will continue involving founders and the wider community in those decisions as we go.
A genuine thank you to everyone who downloaded, subscribed, tested, reported bugs or simply sent words of encouragement. You are helping shape this product from the ground up and that support means more to us than you probably realise.
